“Being muslim has nothing to do with politics” – Pirzada Ibrahim Siddique of Furfura Sharif regarding The fatwa of Bengal Imams’ Association

The fatwa, Bengal Imams’ Association put for Bengal muslims on 7th August,2020, is nothing but a hidden political agenda of Trinamool Congres for recovering lost support base among the Muslims. The Chairman of the Association” in that fatwa warned muslims against joining BJP and RSS. He even went a step ahead by quoting Hadith, “If a muslim works in strengthening the enemies of Islam( read BJP, RSS) he will cease to be a mumin or muslim”.

The Holy Koran or Hadith does not allow such kind of absurd thing which the Chairman declared. Moreover, he has no moral or religious authority to announce thus. In Muslim world it is acknowledged that only the main cleric of Dewaband has the right to give fatwa for Indian muslims. Clearly, with political vested interests, the Imams’ Association has issued this fatwa to wrest muslim vote bank to a particular political party. Again, this association was formed at the behest of Trinamool Congress party or government to bully general muslims. Instead of improving education, creating jobs for youths, and over all development of the Muslims, it started a scheme for giving a minimal salary or ‘Imambhata’ for an odd thousand imams and muizzains. The Bengal Imams’ Association was formed with that end in view. An imam gets Rs.1200 and a muizzain gets Rs 800/ per month, what’s a joke for them at this hour of crisis.
Now the question arises, WHO is a Mumin or muslim? Let us consult the Holy Quran and Hadith. According to the Quran, a Mumin or Momin is a believer. It denotes a person who has complete submission to the Will of Allah and has faith firmly established in his heart i,e “a faithful Muslim.”

The Quran quotes:
(An-Nisa 4:136)

” O you who believe! Believe in Allah and His Messenger, and the Book(the Quran) which He has sent down to His Messenger and the Scripture which He sent down to those before (Him),and whosoever disbelieves in Allah, His Angels, His Books,His Messenger, and the Last Day, then indeed he has strayed far away”.

This verse addresses the believers, exhorting them to believe, implying multiple stages of believe.

So, it must be said that the Chairman of Bengal Imams’ Association has misquoted Hadith, so his faith in Islam is questionable. Moreover, many Islamic Maulana and learned persons clearly denounce this press release as rubbish, and no muslim follow his instructions.
The learned Pirzada Ibrahim Siddique of Furfura Sharif said, “The question of Eman or Faith in Islam is a different subject, it has nothing to do with BJP. It denotes believe in Allah, the Quran, His Prophet and his sayings. Those who disbelieve in Allah is not muslim. Being muslim has nothing to do with politics.” Bengal Imams Association is not correct.
