In a city known for its competitive academic spirit, a remarkable act of selfless altruism has set a new benchmark for social service. Dinkar Rao Sabnis, a senior pracharak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and a trained engineer, has donated his ancestral property worth crores of rupees to ensure that a lack of wealth never stands in the way of a student’s dreams.
A Legacy Written in Service The donation is more than just a real estate transfer; it is the culmination of a century-long family legacy of public duty. Sabnis’s father, Mukund Rao Sabnis, served with distinction as a Superintendent of Police (SP) and was honored with the President’s Police Medal. His mother was equally pioneering, serving as a founder member of the women’s wing of the RSS in Indore. Despite being the only son, Dinkar Rao Sabnis chose to relinquish his private inheritance in favor of the “Modern Gyan Kendra” (Modern Knowledge Center), which will now operate from his former home on Sangam Nagar Main Road.
Democratizing the “Education Hub” The Modern Gyan Kendra, managed by the Youth Wings Welfare Society, aims to bridge the gap in Indore’s expensive coaching market. The center is designed to be a comprehensive ecosystem for the marginalized, offering:
- Elite Coaching: Free preparation for high-stakes exams like UPSC and MPPSC, led by subject matter experts.
- Infrastructure for Success: A state-of-the-art library and hostel facilities for students from distant or underprivileged backgrounds.
- Holistic Wellness: Integrating yoga, meditation, physiotherapy, and naturopathy to support the mental and physical health of aspirants.
The “GYAN” Vision and State Support The foundation-laying ceremony on February 1, 2026, saw a powerful convergence of political and social leadership. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav lauded the initiative as a perfect alignment with the state’s “GYAN” framework—focusing on the Poor (Gareeb), Youth (Yuva), Farmers (Annadata), and Women (Nari).
Recognizing the center’s potential impact, Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya announced a government contribution of ₹11 lakh to support the project. The center will also focus on rural empowerment by connecting farmers with modern, chemical-free organic farming techniques.
A Blueprint for Transformation Under the guidance of senior leadership like Suresh Soni, the center will implement the “Punch Parivartan” (Five Transformations) philosophy, which emphasizes environmental protection, water conservation, and the fostering of indigenous values. By transforming a private residence into a public powerhouse of knowledge, the Sabnis family has ensured that the “Heart of India” continues to beat for its most vulnerable citizens.

ইন্দোর: বর্তমানের বস্তুবাদী যুগে যেখানে সম্পত্তির অধিকার নিয়ে লড়াই ঘরে ঘরে, সেখানে এক অনন্য দৃষ্টান্ত স্থাপন করলেন ইন্দোরের প্রবীণ সঙ্ঘ প্রচারক দিনকর রাও সবনীস। পেশায় ইঞ্জিনিয়ার এই সমাজসেবী তাঁর কয়েক কোটি টাকা মূল্যের পৈতৃক সম্পত্তি দান করেছেন ‘ইউথ উইংস ওয়েলফেয়ার সোসাইটি’-র হাতে। তাঁর এই ত্যাগের উদ্দেশ্য একটাই—আর্থিক অনটনের কারণে যেন কোনও মেধাবী পড়ুয়ার আইএএস (IAS) বা আইপিএস (IPS) হওয়ার স্বপ্ন মাঝপথে থেমে না যায়।
সেবার উত্তরাধিকার দিনকর রাওয়ের এই মহানুভবতা আসলে তাঁর পারিবারিক ঐতিহ্যেরই প্রতিফলন। তাঁর বাবা মুকুন্দ রাও সবনীস ছিলেন ইন্দোরের অত্যন্ত শ্রদ্ধাভাজন পুলিশ সুপার (SP) এবং রাষ্ট্রপতির পুলিশ পদকপ্রাপ্ত একজন আধিকারিক। তাঁর মা-ও ছিলেন ইন্দোরে আরএসএস-এর মহিলা শাখার (সেবিকা সমিতি) অন্যতম প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সদস্য। পরিবারের একমাত্র সন্তান হওয়া সত্ত্বেও, দিনকর রাও পৈতৃক সম্পত্তির মোহ ত্যাগ করে তা সমাজের কল্যাণে উৎসর্গ করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন। ইন্দোরের সঙ্গম নগর মেন রোডে অবস্থিত এই বাড়িতেই এখন গড়ে উঠতে চলেছে এক অত্যাধুনিক ‘মডার্ন জ্ঞান কেন্দ্র’।
মেধাবীদের জন্য সুযোগের দুয়ার
ইন্দোরকে বলা হয় মধ্য ভারতের শিক্ষার প্রাণকেন্দ্র। কিন্তু বেসরকারি কোচিং সেন্টারের আকাশছোঁয়া ফি সাধারণ পরিবারের সন্তানদের নাগালে বাইরে। এই সমস্যার সমাধানে মডার্ন জ্ঞান কেন্দ্র এক বৈপ্লবিক ভূমিকা পালন করতে চলেছে। এখানে যা যা থাকছে:

- সামগ্রিক সুস্থতা: পরীক্ষার চাপের মধ্যে পড়ুয়াদের মানসিক ও শারীরিক স্বাস্থ্যের যত্ন নিতে যোগব্যায়াম, মেডিটেশন এবং ফিজিওথেরাপির মতো ব্যবস্থা থাকবে।
সরকারি সহযোগিতা ও ‘GYAN’ দর্শন এই মহতী উদ্যোগের শিলান্যাস অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন মধ্যপ্রদেশের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ডঃ মোহন যাদব। তিনি জানান, সবনীস পরিবারের এই অবদান রাজ্য সরকারের ‘GYAN’ (গরিব, যুব, অন্নদাতা ও নারী) দর্শনের সাথে ওতপ্রোতভাবে জড়িয়ে আছে। নগরোন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী কৈলাশ বিজয়বর্গীয় এই কেন্দ্রের বিকাশের জন্য ১১ লক্ষ টাকা সরকারি অনুদান ঘোষণা করেছেন। শুধু শিক্ষাই নয়, এই কেন্দ্রটি মালওয়া অঞ্চলের কৃষকদের আধুনিক ও বিষমুক্ত জৈব চাষের পদ্ধতি শেখাতেও গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা নেবে।
সমাজের রূপান্তর প্রবীণ সঙ্ঘ নেতা সুরেশ সোনি এই উদ্যোগের প্রশংসা করে বলেন, ‘পঞ্চ পরিবর্তন’-এর আদর্শকে সামনে রেখে এই কেন্দ্রটি সমাজ সংস্কারের কাজ করবে। পরিবেশ রক্ষা, জল সংরক্ষণ এবং পারিবারিক মূল্যবোধের শিক্ষা দেওয়ার পাশাপাশি এটি যুবসমাজকে আত্মনির্ভর হতে সাহায্য করবে। এক প্রচারকের এই নিঃস্বার্থ দান ইন্দোরের সামাজিক মানচিত্রকে এক নতুন উচ্চতায় নিয়ে গেল।
